Chapter 1

It had been a sunny day,the sun shone brightly,the clouds passed by and the breeze blew gently over my face.Missing a fine day like this would be awful!I'm Sarah,I live by the seashore.I don't live alone though,I have Sooty with me,Sooty's my black and grey fur coloured cat.Sooty's one of my trustworthy partner!

I watched Sooty playing around the sandcastle I just build."What's so interesting over there?"I thought curiously.Just then,a flicker of movement caught my eye,my heart pounded,and I was about to plunge myself to Sooty when a crab appeared behind the sandcastle."Whoa,I must've have a huge imagination!"I cried.Sooty plunged himself at the crab but the crab avoided Sooty cunningly.Sooty flicked his tail in dissapointment and swinged his paw.The crab scurried back to the ocean quickly,leaving small bits of trails at the brown beach sand.

I picked Sooty up and into my arms."You really are cunning!"I said as Sooty rubbed his pinky small nose against my cheek gently.I answered him back by kissing him on the forehead with proudness of my little Sooty.

"Come on,I know you're hungry,"I said as I carried Sooty back into our little but comfortable house.Sooty's eyes never left the ocean.Maybe his still thinking about that crab prehaps?

KLANG!KLING!The food poured into the empty plastic foodbowl.Sooty ran clumsily towards it and his back-legs were a little bit tied up with the yarn he just played.He puts his muzzle into the bowl,sniffed it with curiosity and began to eat it."I'm very glad your with me Sooty,"I thought as I stroked his soft,damp fur gently(he played near a puddle of water just now)."We'd better get you all dried up now,and go to bed!"

I dried Sooty already and we were getting ready to go to bed.I brushed my teeth and turned off the lights.The nightlight I just bought shone brihtly across the room.I climbed up to bed and lied down.Suddenly,I felt something heavy on my stomach.I widened my eye to see who it was.Sooty.He curled up in a ball,put his tail near him,purred loudly but gently and went to sleep.I was reliefed and I tried to relax myself.The night was filled with the sounds of the waves and the crickets.Soon,I went out of my deep thoughts and went to sleep.
